Race report by Joachim Kallen
It had rained a lot the night before Saturday and it continued in the morning so the track was not in optimal condition. We waited for the track to dry up a bit and then went straight to qualifying in the afternoon and it was difficult so I ended up on P9.

On Sunday the track dried up completely and got very hard and bumpy, so my setup didn’t work very well during semifinal practice. Before the semifinal I changed my setup and the car worked very well afterwards and I could gain starting position 3 for the final.

Right before the start to the 45 minute final we had to change the glow plug so I started half a lap behind the whole field. There was only one thing to do, full throttle and get back to the front. Then 8 minutes before the end I had a great race with my friend Patrick Hofer and managed to take the lead.

But then on the last lap and on the downhill straight right before the finish line I ran out of fuel. During the duel with Patrick I had used a lot more fuel than usual and this cost me my first victory for Team XRAY and I came second.

With my teammate Robin Frischkopf on P7 and Grégory Jakob on P9 on his first race with XRAY it was nonetheless a good result for the team. The car was great and the atmosphere on the podium as well.

Thank you to Michel Chirichiello and to the chief mechanic, my father William. Thank you to Daniela Pace for the great pictures.
